International Activities

OGC attorneys provide legal advice and support for the broad range of MIT’s international activities.  They negotiate and document terms of agreements with foreign sponsors and collaborators, analyze the impact of foreign laws and requirements on activities abroad and assist with a broad range of operational issues with such activities.

International Advisory Committee

The mission of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) is to provide a faculty voice in advising MIT’s senior administration on the Institute's international engagements, and includes the review and assessment of potential, planned, continuing, and completed international activities, to help ensure that our portfolio of international engagements is effectively advancing MIT’s core mission.

Elevated Risk Review

MIT’s engagements with three countries — China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia — are subject to additional faculty and administrative review to help identify and manage risks and ensure successful collaborations with international parties.

This checklist is intended to help identify projects that may be considered “international engagements” and need special attention from MIT administration.
