Matt Fucci

Counsel

Matt Fucci joined MIT’s Office of the General Counsel in August 2018.  He handles a wide variety of transactions relating to the Institute’s research and education missions, including international and domestic collaborations, agreements related to educational programs and agreements that involve intellectual property.  He also provides advice on general business affairs, regulatory and policy matters and Institute governance.

Prior to joining MIT, Mr. Fucci was Counsel at Ropes & Gray LLP, where he practiced for a decade and worked with a wide range of academic research institutions, companies and investors in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and other high tech fields.  Mr. Fucci also served as Vice President and Senior Counsel for three years at a leading global financial institution, where he advised on domestic and international product launches, data protection, and strategic initiatives.

Mr. Fucci graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.  He also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in chemical engineering.  Mr. Fucci is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys and the Boston Bar Association.
