Summer Internship Opportunity
The Office of the General Counsel at MIT provides legal advice, counseling, and service to MIT and represents the Institute in its legal matters. Our responsibility is to provide our best, independent advice in the interest of MIT. Our mission is to educate as to the laws, policies, and procedures applicable to MIT's operations, to prevent legal problems and solve those that occur, to facilitate transactions, and to provide advice and representation, all in order to help MIT's faculty, administration, staff, and students fulfill their goals in teaching, research, and service. Our goal is an office culture, practice, and reputation distinguished for intelligence, energy, and a deep understanding of MIT. And our ambition is to serve as trusted partners in MIT’s most important work.
We welcome internship applications from law students who find our mission inspiring, our responsibility challenging, and our goal and ambition an echo of their own values. The intern may receive assignments across any of our practice areas. Our internship is a unique opportunity whether you are a first-year student seeking an initial law office experience, a second-year student seeking an alternative to the law firm experience, or a third-year student with a summer preceding a judicial clerkship.
Candidates will need their own funding.
Interested candidates should email a resume, cover letter and transcript to mit-ogc-intern@mit.edu.
