Kristin Garvin

Counsel

Kristin Garvin joined MIT as Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel in May 2020. Her responsibilities include managing real estate matters involving all academic facilities and institute-owned properties. 

Before joining MIT, Ms. Garvin served as Director and Senior Counsel, North America Real Estate at Iron Mountain, overseeing real estate legal matters for more than 700 facilities in the US and Canada. Prior to that role, she served as Senior Counsel at American Tower, where she worked on both real estate matters and national wireless customer matters. Ms. Garvin began her legal career at Sullivan & Worcester LLP as a real estate associate where her practice focused on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including leasing, financing, sales and acquisitions. 

Ms. Garvin graduated cum laude from both Wake Forest University and Boston College Law School.  She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
