Overseen by BU Law professors, the clinics are designed to be mutually beneficial to MIT students who need legal advice and BU law students who need hands-on experience. The Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic, opening in September 2015 under the direction of Professor Eve J. Brown, will be a resource for advice on issues such as financing new companies, intellectual property and contracts. Eight BU students will participate in this clinic. The Technology and Cyberlaw Clinic, opening in 2016, will focus on advice on issues such as communications, data security, and privacy in students’ academic and extracurricular activities. The clinics are open to all MIT students, and will be available on BU and MIT campuses. The MIT campus location will be at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship (E40-160).
